Southgate Recreation and Park District provides park and recreation services, and is located in Sacramento, Calif. The district also operates and maintains parkways open space, including creek corridors, golf courses, community centers and landscape corridors. It encompasses more than 50 square miles and includes more than 30 parks that accommodate social gatherings, weddings, childrens playgrounds, including baseball, football, soccer, tennis and basketball courts, and community centers and swimming pools. It offers various programs, including gymnastics, dance, skating, after school recreation program, tennis and martial arts. Its martial arts include karate to achieve and maintain mental discipline and learn proper physical fitness through martial arts training.
