Mount Pisgah Ministry began in its current form in 1973, when Senior Pastor Clifford James Wilson and his wife came to Evanston. For nearly 35  years the pastor has been ministering to the faithful at this Evanston house of worship, leading the congregation in Bible study as well as supporting a number of missions to empower local youth and comfort the elderly. With prayer meetings, worship services, and other events taking place at the church nearly seven days a week, Mount Pisgah is a vibrant member of Evanston's religious community.

The Salvation Army Service Center offers a variety of community services, including emergency food and financial assistance, family counseling and visitation services for older adults. There is also a worship center that offers children's education, music and arts programs, women's ministries and worship services. Youth services include character-building programs, community recreation programs, day camp activities and latchkey programs.  

The Salvation Army is an international movement and an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church that currently operates in 117 countries around the world. This Evanston Service Center has been located in this building since 1923.

St. James Armenian Church Evanston has served the largest concentration of the Armenian community in Chicago since 1944. The parish is located in the heart of downtown at the doorstep of the University. Its diverse congregation numbers about 200 people from all corners of the Armenian world--Turkey, the Middle East and the Republic of Armenia--as well as many downtown professionals and families who are third and fourth generation in the parish. St. James offers an active Sunday School and young adults group (ACYOA) as well as a Women's Guild and its Kousan Choir. The parish is best known as host of Evanston's annual Taste of Armenia Festival which draws more than 2,500 people of all ethnic backgrounds for a leisurely day of charcoal-grilled kebab and home-cooked Armenian delicacies, live music for dancing, special cultural presentations and games for the kids.

Unity on the North Shore is a non-denominational spiritual community working to promote a positive and practical approach for spiritual living. The organization believes there are many paths to one God, called by many names: Source, Universe, Allah, Buddha, Krishna, Higher Power.

The organization focuses on prayer and meditation with practices taught in yoga and other Eastern traditions. Unity regards the Bible as its basic textbook and looks to the example and teachings of Jesus for inspiration. The organization works closely with the community and offers numerous music, youth, outreach and religious education programs. St. Paul's Lutheran Church is located at the intersection of Greenwood Street and Maple Avenue.  The church is led by Pastor David Dennison.  The church offers adult education, confirmation, Wednesday morning Bible study and choir.  The church also has a soup kitchen open on Sundays to feed the hungry and serves as a warming center during times of extreme cold.

The first organizational meeting for Faith Temple Church was held on January 7, 1957, with the official opening service occuring later the same year on April 24 in a temporary location at Foster School (2010 Dewey Avenue). The church relocated permanently to its current location at 1932 Dewey Street in 1967. The church was founded by Bishop Moody, who has led the church since its inception in 1957.  The church has a variety of offerings beyond traditional Sunday worship services, including Christian education, youth programs, music programs, a gospel choir, prison ministry, sick and shut-in ministry and community evangelism.

Hemenway United Methodist Church was founded 137 years ago. After the first church was destroyed by a cyclone and a fire, the church was rebuilt in its current location in 1887. Hemenway is very active in the community. Its motto is, "We feed everyone." The church offers food and clothing to those in need. Its "Soup at Six" program serves around 100 - 150 hot meals per week. Hemenway also has an active music program with both adult and youth choirs.

Trinity Lutheran Church has a history stretching back over 100 years, having been founded in 1891 in Evanston by a group of 22 Scandinavian immigrants. Today, more than 700 baptized members belong to the congregation. Trinity's current sanctuary on Golf Road was finished and dedicated on October 19, 1952. The building is hearing-loop-equipped and offers childcare for Sunday services. Programs include an outreach initiative to Northern Ireland that brings Irish teenagers to Evanston for a week, as well as Bible study, Bible camp, yoga and weight loss, and groups for seniors.  Timothy Brown is the senior pastor.

The Sephardic Congregation is located on Howard Street just west of Chicago Avenue, across the street from Gulliver's Travels. The congregation is led by Rabbi Hertzel Hillel Yitzhak. Sephardic Judaism is a branch of Judaism that was present on the Iberian Peninsula before the people's expulsion in the late 15th Century.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church welcomes people of all race, backgrounds and sexual orientation to worship together. The church has a choir, in addition to youth and bible study groups. St. Luke's congregation is very active in the community. For example, the church delivers food to people in need at Christmas. This program serves more than 1,500 families in the Chicago area. Founded in 1844, Bahai Faith is one of the youngest independent monotheistic religions in the world. It is also one of the largest geographically widespread religions, with more than 5 million adherents in over 230 countries and territories. The Bahai House of Worship consists an auditorium, used only for prayer and meditation, the gardens, and the visitor center. It also houses a foundation hall, reading and viewing rooms, and a guide lounge, and offers various devotional and spiritual programs. It additionally provides prayer breakfast program offering refreshments to the visitors, and Spanish presentations on the Bah Faith for Spanish-speaking visitors. Unity Church on the North Shore is located on Central St., west of Hunter Rd. Weekly worship services are held every Sunday at 10:30am, with Sunday-school classes for preschool though high-school-aged kids and nursery services for the youngest members. Study groups and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are offered at the church during the week.

Reba Place Fellowship was founded in 1957 and serves as a Christian community. It started as three people living together and sharing all of their possessions. The fellowship has grown to more than 40 members. They meet in apartments and houses. In addition, they hold annual potlucks to celebrate together and to get to know one another.

Located in Beth Emet Synagogue is a reformatory Jewish congregation consisting of various families and individuals of all ages. It offers prayer, Shabbat, minyan, sermons and community education services. It also offers religious, social, cultural and educational activities, such as theater and sports outings, and Shabbat dinners with various guest speakers. It organizes various activities, such as informal Shabbat potluck picnics, Purim carnivals, an environmental protection program, Tu BShevat seder and the annual Sukkah Walk.
