Through hardworking volunteers and community donations, the Lutheran Mission Society Compassion Center is a place where those in need can come to for help. The center provides emergency food, clothing, counseling, family education and household necessities. It also provides shelter for women (18 and up) who are pregnant and for single mothers and their children. There are currently eight Compassion Care Centers, including seven in Maryland and one in Pennsylvania.
The Mount Olive A.M.E. Church and Community Life Center are located on Hicks Avenue, just off West Street. The church offers a variety of family and youth ministries and outreach programs.

This brick church with a white steeple sits in a quiet neighborhood on Parole Street, just off West Street in Annapolis. Cecil Memorial offers opportunities for fellowship, choir, bible study and programs for all ages. Services are held each Sunday at 11 am, except in the summer when they take place at 10am. Special services include a church-wide rally and celebrations for family and founder days.
Opportunities for community outreach include sponsoring a food pantry, an adopt-a-school program and tutoring. The church also has programs for children, including vacation bible school, praise dancers and scouting for both boys and girls.
Bay Ridge Christian Church is a non-denominational church located at the end of Bay Ridge Road. The church is "biblically based, Christ centered and aimed at developing a caring community." Bay Ridge Christian Church offers weekly worship services, adult bible study, small group ministry and youth groups.
Located on Hidden Meadow Lane just off Severn Grove Road, signs point the way to Congregation Kol Shalom in a peaceful wooded setting. At services on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, children are welcome. Babysitting is provided at all holiday services. Congregation Kol Shalom is associated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
At the same location is the Daniel Rothman Consolidated School, which is named for a young man from Kol Shalom (then Kol Ami) who died in 1992.
Rich in history and tradition, Heritage Baptist Church has been a part of the community of Annapolis for more than a century. The church, which currently has a congregation of about 200 people, originated in 1903 when five members of the Eastport Baptist Church dreamed up its creation and raised enough money to see it through. The church's first location was on College Avenue and it remained there until the church moved to its current spot on Forest Drive in 1972. It was then that the Church became known to residents as Heritage Baptist. The church sanctuary includes four beautiful stained-glass windows, which were moved from the College Avenue facility. Reverend Henry Green serves as the church pastor.
This golden-domed Greek Orthodox church offers worship services, Sunday school, adult Bible study, conversion classes and afternoon Greek school for school-age children. Popular annual events for the community include Breakfast with Santa, a craft show and an Easter egg hunt. The church attracts large crowds each year during the first week of June for the Annapolis Greek Festival. Although the main attraction is the delicious Greek food, the event also features local artisans, imported gifts and live entertainment. Located right in the heart of the Cape community, this church strives to serve its community through service. Families are an important part of the congregation, and there are many programs for children, including Sunday School, music groups, and Vacation Bible School. The youth program is very active, sponsoring annual events and missions. The church also sponsors a child care center opened year round.
First built in 1956 but a part of the community much earlier than that, St. Luke's Episcopal Church serves a congregation of about 120 members. Following the retirement of its recent rector, the church is currently in transition and looking for a replacement. Church members are active in many local mission projects, including providing bag lunches to the Light House Shelter each Sunday and serving as the distribution site for the food pantry on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The church also sponsors a local cub scout troop, which meets on its premises each Thursday.
St. Margaret's Episcopal Church is an Episcopal church located in Annapolis. In addition to Sunday worship, the church offers an array of educational programming and missionary work for congregants of all ages. Located in the heart of Historic Annapolis, the present-day St. Anne's Parish is an Episcopal Church that has been serving the community of Annapolis for more than 150 years.

Under the leadership of Pastor David Wentz, Trinity United Methodist Church is situated on the city's busy and flourishing West Street. The church offers two services on Sunday mornings; a casual, contemporary service at 9am and a more traditional worship opportunity at 11am. Coffee is served to churchgoers on Sunday mornings at 10:15 am, and each Tuesday morning a dedicated group meets at the church to pray for the troops.
Eastport United Methodist Church is a small church with a big impact on the community. Under the leadership of Rev. MaAn Barcello, the church has an active membership of about 120 members. It is involved in several major ministries and each winter, it houses 20 - 30 homeless men for one week so they have a safe and warm place to stay. On the third Wednesday of each month, the church also supplies food from the Anne Arundel County Food Bank to needy families in the community. Each August, the church draws a large crowd to its Peach Festival, which is a fundraiser that is open to anyone in the community who buys a ticket. It features a bake sale and sit-down dinner. Church members served about 650 dinners at the festival this past year.
The synagogue's mission, as stated on its website, "is to live up to our name and have our Congregation be a spiritual home for all Jews."

Located in the heart of Annapolis' Historic District, St. Mary's Parish serves a large group of people by offering more than 12 Liturgies every weekend. Located at the corner of Bestgate and Severn Grove roads, St. Philip's Episcopal Church has community roots dating back to 1870, and has been at its current location since 1969. Each Sunday, the church offers two worship services as well as Sunday morning study. Church members participate in events such as an annual crab feast, community outreach efforts and a variety of ministries. The church maintains an environmental ministry that includes planting rain gardens in an outdoor sanctuary and an ongoing recycling campaign. The expansive Family Life Center banquet hall is available for special events, reunions and receptions.
