St. Paul Ame Zion Church is pastored by Rev. Damen Carver. They hold services twice a week in a classic white adobe chapel. It is nestled in a small neighborhood just outside downtown Media.
Congregation Beth-Israel of Media is a Reconstructionist church where they celebrate their traditional Judeo roots, but infuse it with an "egalitarian, participatory and open-minded" approach. They are lead by Rabbi Linda Potemken, who is also the head of the Philadelphia Reconstructionist movement. She also has served on the Board and Executive Board of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association and on the Executive Board of the Philadelphia Board of Rabbis.
Providence Friends Meeting is an active, spiritual Quaker community located in Media. Providence Friends Meeting gives back to the community in many ways. One Saturday a month it prepares and serves food at the Life Center of Eastern Delaware County. It also rents out its space to members and other organizations.
Nativity BVM (Blessed Virgin Mary) is a Roman Catholic church located in Media's historic downtown district. This beautiful church's congregation is led by the Rev. Edward H. Bell and the Rev. Daniel Cavanaugh.
Delaware Valley Christian Church is run by Pastored Andrew Cox. It has a children's, youth and young adults ministry. It is a community- based church that believes in being supportive with each other through both celebrations and trials.
Crosspointe Church PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) is Pastored by Jeffrey Brunsink. Its goal is to have a "real" church where members can be honest to each other. It has a great kids "Klub" and nursery program, as well as adult "Point Groups" where people are free to work through the challenges of living in today's world.
Springton Lake Presbyterian Church sits on the intersection of Media Line Road and Newtown Street Road.
The church has a long roster of programs and activities for every age group in the congregation. For younger members, there's summer Bible camp and weekly Sunday worship services, choir and an annual Christmas play. Separate programs and activities are offered for middle school and high school students, including retreats and summer mission trips. Discipleship classes and special luncheons are for young adults, adults and small groups.
Media's first Baptist Church is rich with history, the original members having first gotten together in 1872, although the building it currently inhabits was built in 1909. Its current pastor is the Reverend Robert Beverly. It offers childcare during morning services. Kids from first to sixth grades are welcome to join the first half of the service and then head out for Junior Church activities, although Sunday evenings plan more for children of all ages.
Christ Church is an Episcopal Church lead by Rev. Adam P. Kradel, Ph.D. Sunday worship is at 8am and then again at 10am. Their mid-week services run as follows: Morning prayer on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:45am; holy Eucharist and healing on Wednesdays at noon; holy Eucharistic on Fridays at 7:30am. The Church has its own Preschool as well as before and after-care from 7:30am to 6pm. They also offer church school for all ages from 11:30am - 12:15pm.
First United Methodist Church of Media is led by Maridel A. Whitmore, and the youth program is run by Doug and Martrice Gregory. Together, they encourage members and their children to follow the teachings of the Bible. The historic church was founded more than 150 years ago.
Faith Reformed Baptist Church is lead by Pastor Matt Foreman. Together he and his worship team combine classic Church rhythms with new melodies to honor the traditions of the Church while finding new ways to express them. Their ministry is centered on reaching out to those in need while working with existing members through small study programs and youth programs.
Media Monthly Meeting is based on the Religious Society of Friends. They study the Bible and other religious writings from other religious faiths as they believe that Gods word is still being revealed. Their services are "silent" and each member is able to speak if they feel lead to do so.
St. George Greek Orthodox Church is lead by Rev. Fr. Anastasios Bourantus. The Greek Orthodox church is one of the oldest denominations of the Christian faith. The church believes in the teaching of the Christian Bible and in the traditions of the historical church. St George Greek Orthodox Church is a newly constructed, beautiful building. it holds a traditional Sunday service as well as a variety of classes and programs throughout the week.
The Media chapter of the Church of the Nazarene is located at the tricky Y-intersection where Providence Road meets Palmer Mill Road. The congregation is led by Pastor Dawn Reed and features a blend of contemporary and traditional services. The first Sunday of every month, the church members enjoy a community get-together at their private coffee house on the grounds. The church also has its own pool.
The Media Church of Christ is a small neighborhood-based church. While it does not believe it is a "denomination" it is a unique Christian faith in that it does not have a priest or a central governing individual. The whole body of the church leads as an example both in and out of the church walls.
Middletown Baptist Church is lead by Pastor Jeff Evans. He and his staff facilitate Middletown Baptist Church & Biblical Nurturing & Inner Healing. The warm, welcoming staff accepts each person as they are in their life journey. The worship service is a mix of contemporary and classic hymns that speak to young and old alike.
