Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High school is located next to Barack Obama Elementary School. The school board district is five. Uniforms are mandatory for all students at this grades 9-12 school.
The school offers a variety of academic departments from art, business, English, health, performing arts, special education, technical academy, TV Production, ROTC and more. The school has volleyball, basketball, football, track and field, swimming, wrestling, tennis, cheerleading and cross country. After-school clubs include art, drama, modeling team, Leo Club, mock trial, science, stock market game and Japan.
The Fairhaven School is modeled after the Sudbury Valley School in Massachusetts, established in 1968. The philosophy behind the school comes from the idea of preparing students for real life through building strong character traits. The school does not provide transportation. The school year runs from September through June. Students ages 5 to 19 attend classes.
Fairhaven offers Play Time for children 3 to 5 and their parents on Tuesdays from 10am to noon at a nominal cost.
Opened in 1982, St. Paul's Christian Children Center offers a caring, safe and Christian environment that promotes learning and child development for children ages three to 12. Monday through Friday full-time care is available for children ages three and four. Part-time care is also available in addition to before- and after-school care. St. Paul's Christian Children Center is located in the Marlton community, directly off of US 301.
Marlton Elementary School is nestled inside the Marlton community. This is a K through 6 school. The school board district is 9. Uniforms are mandatory for students. Before and after care are available. The TAG program is offered at the school. Marlton Elementary participates in several community fundraising activities, including Giants A+ Bonus Bucks.
St. Mary of the Assumption School is close to the interesection of Marlboro Pike and Largo Road. This school is for grades K - 8 and before- and after-school care is available. Admission is open to non-Catholics, but preference is given to Catholics. The school participates in several community fundraising programs and teaches a combination of religious and academic curiculum. Some of the more popular sports available are baseball, basketball, soccer and softball.
Riverdale Baptist Church serves a diverse faith community. Riverdale Baptist also offers Christian education for children ages 3 to 18. Admission information can be found online at www.rbschool.org.
Arrowhead Elementary Schools is located near Ritchie Market Place. This school is part of School Board District 7. The school partipates in the Giant A+ Bonus Program. Arrowhead uses the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school system, a team-based process for systemic problem solving, planning, and evaluation. For the 2004 to 2005 school year, Arrowhead Elementary School received the Maryland Center for Character Education award. Students are required to wear uniforms at Arrowhead.
