The Thomas Jefferson Elementary School is located in Yorktown and as of 2010, it educates 469 students attending full-day kindergarten through fifth grade.
Available services to students include a full-time math specialist and two full-time reading specialists. The special education support staff includes speech, occupational and physical therapists, a social worker, a psychologist and a library media specialist.
Smart boards, a computer lab with wireless laptops and the ability to video conference enhance the students' learning experiences.
The energy room at Thomas Jefferson includes a strength-training circuit and exercise bicycles. As part of the physical education program, students can challenge themselves on the rock climbing wall in the gymnasium.

Lakeland Alternative High School is located in Yorktown. As of 2010, there are 20 ninth through twelfth grade students who attend the school. Students who need a smaller class size in order to succeed, a less stressful school experience, a nurturing school community, have a lower than expected school performance and those who show avoidance behavior by cutting class, can enroll at the school.
Classes, 44-minutes in length, are at Regents level. Ninth grade students take a full-day of classes, while upperclassmen attend classes for half the day. For the second part of the day, upperclassmen can attend the Tech Center, take part in the school's work-experience/internship program or attend classes at their home school.
Temple Beth Am was established in 1963, and more than 180 families now comprise the temple's membership. Services offered include Shabbat family services and children's religious school. Torah studies, book clubs and choir are ongoing at the temple, as is active membership through social action committees and other community-related activities.
