Since its beginning in 1976, The Fish Market has offered fresh seafood out of nearly 10 restaurants in California and Arizona. Supported by its own fishery, fishing boat and partnership in an oyster farm, the company refers to itself as consisting of seafood people in the restaurant business. Each of the restaurants features a retail seafood market. The retail case is a showpiece to guests entering the restaurant. Cafe Luna has been serving Carmel Mountain Ranchn since the 1990s. Chef Paden Skaggs prepares nightly specials, and the restaurant welcomes special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners and more. Every night from 6 to 7 pm the restaurant hosts "Wine Flights," where the wait staff recommends the best wine paring with your meal. Brigantine Corporation includes Azul La Jolla, Brigantine Seafood Restaurants, Miguels Cocinas and Z calo Grill, all in California. The first Brigantine restaurant was opened by Mike and Barbara Morton on Shelter Island, Calif., in 1969. Its menu consisted of nine items, including a late-night entr e and beef stew. In the summer of 1973, the couple opened their second location in Coronado, followed by restaurants in Del Mar and Escondido. Eventually there would be Brigantine Seafood Restaurants throughout San Diego County, including La Mesa, Poway and Old Town. Every year since 1987, a small contingent of employees and managers travels from San Diego to Sonoma to participate in the custom blending of the company s house chardonnay and merlot.
