La Cabanita de Don Chepe has been located within a tiny shopping strip on Vanowen Street in North Hollywood for 14 years. This is the second of two La Cabanita locations, the other being on Lankersheim. It features both Mexican and Salvadorean cuisine, including traditional dishes, served fast-food style. Dishes offered include burritos, fajitas and its well-known corn and flour pupusas. The location is small but very warm and inviting. Beers are half-price during Happy Hour, every day between 4pm and 7pm. Be sure to stop by the ATM first, though, as La Cabanita accepts cash only.
Cacti on the tiled patio out front mark the entrance to Pepe's Restaurant. With a coastline mural painted on the building's left side, Pepe's is a Mexican restaurant with a focus on seafood. In addition to an extensive menu of authentic offerings, Pepe's also has a full bar tucked away to the right of the door. Booths and banquette tables comfortably accommodate groups of any size. Lucy's 51 is a restaurant, bar and lounge with great ambiance and live music. The chic interior with its leopard-printed booths, its grown-up comfort food and eclectic crowd, makes Lucy's a fun place. The menu consists of American fare with a twist, and has become a favorite food spot. Lucy's serves exotic drinks, and a late night menu that consists of Calamari Fritti, dips, hummus, chicken fingers, burgers and more which is served until 1am. The crowd is a mix of celebrities, locals and young professionals.
Open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, EAT is a contemporary diner located on Magnolia Boulevard in the NoHo Arts District. Since 2007, EAT has served its customers with a wide selection of breakfasts and lunches at reasonable prices. Some of the breakfast specialties include the EAT Deluxe Scramble and Amy's Breakfast Croissant. Lunch items include the Malibu Stacy chicken sandwich and the Golden Gate Burger made with parmesan sourdough bread. Seating is available inside, at the counter, and in the patio.

Mommy's First is a brand new store to the North Hollywood area. It offers a variety of grocery items, specializing in baby and toddler food items. It carries foods such as cereal, milk, boxed meals, canned foods and various types of baby foods. This store accepts WIC payments, but customers can pay with other types of payments. The atmosphere is friendly, and the staff is ready and willing to help each customer.
Piriya serves authentic, homemade Thai cuisine. If you like non-fancy, mom & pop style Thai food, then this is place for you. A family-owned business with simple décor, Piriya provides a friendly atmosphere. Signature dishes include Pad Thai with peanut sauce, and BBQ Duck Fried Rice. The most popular dishes are the curries, like Kang Ka Lee, which is a yellow curry with coconut milk, carrots, onions and potatoes. The restaurant also offers excellent lunch specials. There is plenty of parking available in a lot.
Pita Fresh Diner specializes in the cuisine of the eastern Mediterranean. Everything is made in-house with fresh local ingredients. It offers dips such as hummus, labneh and mutabbai (bab ghanouji). It also has falafel, seasoned rice and hummus with meat, but everyone comes for the tasty, slow-cooked-in-the-rotisserie, shawarma and kabobs. The diner prepares both beef and chicken versions of this special cuisine, and then everything is wrapped in fresh-baked pita breads. It also has a catering menu which prepares all of the popular dishes for large parties--these are popular with all of the entertainment studios and companies located in this area of North Hollywood. There is a small café area to eat in, or you can get delivery or take-out services.
Nica's Kitchen specializes in "typical dishes from Nicaragua." It's a neighborhood spot, with a mom-and-pop feel inside. Orders are placed at the counter to the right. Many of the day's offerings can be found on display in the nearby case. As for entrees, the highlights include carne asada, salpicon and cerdo asado. Special orders for dishes like gallina rellena and indio viejo may also be placed. For seating, a row of booths lines the left-hand wall.
