Founded in 1962, Block Institute is a nonsectarian agency providing individualized services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Based in Brooklyn, N.Y., the agency offers education and evaluation services program for children with special needs. Additionally, its programs for adults with disabilities include rehabilitation, vocational services, day treatment, residential care, medicaid service coordination and clinical services. The agency also provides unique programs, such as aquatics, theater arts, martial arts and more. Its Block Institute School is approved by the NYC Department of education as a multidisciplinary evaluation site.
