Part of the San Juan Unified School District, Woodside Elementary School is quite large, accepting students in Kindergarden through eight grade. Its mission is to promote a collaborative and respective relationship with teachers, parents and students within the community. The school is in involved with the Citrus Heights Police Activities League (PAL), which is non-profit organization servicing the youth in the community through sports and recreational activities.
Lions-Citrus Heights is an extension of the Ascension Christian Preschool day care center. It is part of the outreach program of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension. It is located only a few blocks from I-80. It is a nonprofit Christian organization and is licensed by the state of California. It accepts children from ages 2 to 5, with a prekindergarten and extended day care hours. The school's mission is to encourage children academically, physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially.
The Children's Choice Learning Center has been a Citrus Heights fixture since 1981. Children ages 18 months to 12 years are accepted. The center provides drop-off and pick-up at some area Citrus Heights elementary schools. Lunch and snacks are provided. Most teachers at the facility have at least 10 years teaching experience. Children are separated by age groups and a variety of lesson plans and activities are implemented. A fenced-in play area with slides and play structures is on site. Citrus Heights Beauty College offers courses such as, manicuring, esthetician and cosmetology. Students are also required to take courses in clinic and clientele services. The school offers hours in which students hone skills through services to the general public. The public may make appointments or walk-in for haircuts/styling, facials, manicures, and hair removal.
Country Hill Montessori provides preschool through lower elementary school level day-care and a full academic program including foreign languages and music appreciation.
