Anderson Elementary School, a Title 1 school situated near downtown Dixon, serves 514 students in kindergarten through the sixth grade. In August 2006, the Dixon Unified School District reorganized Anderson Elementary into a kindergarten through sixth-grade school. Two years later, the district merged Anderson Elementary with Silveyville Elementary.

Anderson Elementary has a number of bilingual students, predominately those who speak Spanish and English. Students are offered English-only and structured English immersion classes, which emphasize English language development and English language proficiency for all students.

The school employs a staff of 17 classroom teachers, two special education support staff members, two instructional assistants and four traffic-playground monitors. Other services and programs include a special education resource program, speech and language program, interventions support classes, a state-adopted core and intervention reading program for all students, a family support team and county mental/health services.

Anderson Elementary is a leading school district partner for Project A.S.P.I.R.E., which is an after-school learning center offering academic interventions, homework club and recreational activities for at-risk youth. This program was recognized with the National Civic Star Award in 2005.

The Silveyville Child Development Center is located on the Silveyville School Campus. It offers a "home" like feel to the children to help them feel comfortable. It has been in business since 1992. Maine Prairie High School is a small continuation school that is situated on E C Street not far from downtown Dixon. Six full- and part-time teachers serve about 100 students.

The school has a Leadership Club that gives its members an opportunity to be involved in the community. The sprawling campus of Dixon High School offers its students multiple ways at succeeding. The school was founded in 1892 and for many years was at 455 East A Street. In 2002, Dixon residents passed a bond to construct the 155,000 square-foot campus of Dixon High School and in 2007, construction on the school was complete.

The new high school is outfitted with two gymnasiums, state-of-the-art classrooms, a home economics and clothing lab, a library/media center, a science building, a music building, a weight and dance studio, a stadium, cafeteria, theater hall, welding shop and a garden.

Dixon High School is home to the Dixon High Rams. The school participates in a variety of fall, winter and spring sports such as baseball, football, golf, water polo, cross country, soccer, volleyball and cheerleading.

The high school is comprised of 1,210 student and employs a staff of 68 teachers and 100 total support staff. In 2008, Dixon High received a six-year term of accreditation by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

The Tremont Child Development Center, located on the Tremont School campus and open since 1998, provides care for toddlers ages two to five and students from six years of age up. It offers before- and after-school care and summer camps. It's open year-round, so parents who work during the summer don't have to worry. C.A. Jacobs Middle School is home to the Cougars and a diverse student body. Twenty seven teachers serve the school's 609 7th and 8th graders.
