The South Bay School of Cooking offers hands-on classes and culinary instruction for novice and experienced cooks. Classes are led by Chef Annette Gallardo and other guest chefs, last about three hours and start at $79. Programs are offered in the summer for kids.
Savoir Faire Language Institute believes that the earlier children learn a foreign language the better. It teaches a preschool and conversation class to solidly prepare children to develop a basic foundation and enjoy the experience. Starting with English, a child can learn a foreign language and speak like a native without an accent. Acquiring a flawless accent is like play, quite effortless and later they learn grammar through a step by step program. The languages offered are Arabic, English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Japanese and Spanish. It also offers ESL or English as a Second Language. The director, Joelle Petit Adkins, started the school in 1995. She is a master teacher and a master trainer. It also offers private lessons and adult classes.
Music Rhapsody offers music classes for babies, children and teens during the school year and summer. Classes offered include Babies/Kids Make Music, Introduction to Piano and Intro to Orff. Private lessons are also available for piano, guitar, voice, saxophone, clarinet and flute.

Mark Fitchett, who has been playing the guitar since the 1970s, offers intensive one-on-one guitar courses in jazz, rock, theory and improvisation. Classes are held once a week for one hour and students are expected to practice for one hour each day. Prospective students must audition for Fitchett, after which each course is customized to the student's current level.
Chyten Educational Services-South Bay provides professional tutoring services. It can help students master math, science, English and history courses and prepare for advanced placement, SAT and ACT exams. It also helps students develop good study habits and speed reading skills.
Yak Academy is a language learning center that teaches Mandarin. The academy's director, Miss Jill, formerly of Beijing, China, speaks Mandarin, Japanese and English. Miss Blanca is the lead Spanish Instructor. Miss Karina is Assistant Director and teaches Spanish to preschoolers. Miss Joelle is the French instructor and holds a master's degree in Mandarin Chinese while also being proficient in German and Spanish. She refers to herself as a "language bug." There are also two other teachers for Mandarin: Miss Tracy and Miss Wendy. Right now the Academy is holding a camp schedule from June 21st to July 2nd. Camp tuition is $225 for five days.
Serving the Redondo Beach and neighboring beach communities for over 90 years, the South Bay Adult School, located within the Los Angeles County, is the 11th largest adult school in California with more than 18,000 annual registrations. With campuses in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, SBAS offers a wide variety of classes in a safe, healthy and relaxing environment.
South Bay Music Together is a childhood music program that welcomes infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners and parents. Its early childhood music programs emphasize adult involvement and aim to develop emotional, cognitive and social skills through open expression and creative exploration. Dive N' Surf rents and repairs surfing and diving equipment. It also offers instructional classes. Items available for rent include dive suits, fins, masks and snorkels, and surf boards.
Dive N' Surf is a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) Five-Star Instructor Development Center. Classes begin almost once every week and require 40 hours to complete.
The Open Water Certification Course consists of classroom instruction, pool dives, ocean dives, gear rental and private counseling sessions. Upon completion, participants will receive a PADI Open Water Certification card.
