Warren W. Cherry Preschool, founded by a group of parents, teachers and administrators 21 years ago, is a part-day preschool program serving 230 children that is based on a core philosophy of child-centered, developmental education and community service. Cherry Preschool is an advocate for all children in our community and an advocate for early childhood education that is inclusive, caring, and respectful of all people. The preschool brings children of all abilities and backgrounds together to play and grow, serving at-risk children, including children with identified special needs and children from low-income families.

Lincolnwood Elementary School is part of Evanston/Skokie School District 65. Lincolnwood teaches students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Students learn math, science and social studies, as well as physical education, music/band and art. Lincolnwood also has extracurricular activities such as baseball, basketball, flag football, track and tennis. It also has a variety of clubs, including chess club, Chinese club, computer club and cooking club. Parents can join the Lincolnwood PTA and attend regular meetings.
In 1958, the Barbereux School moved out of its humble first home in an Evanston storefront and into its current location. Tucked away in far northwestern Evanston, the school is a quiet oasis on a leafy street and looks comfortable amidst the residential homes. The large yard outside the school is filled with toys and different sorts of playground equipment, clearly marking the school's focus on play as an element of learning.
From its origins as a small, local music school, Barbereux has expanded to become one of Evanston's premier educational institutions.

Northminster Presbyterian Church was founded in 1922 and the building was dedicated in 1929. Currently it has over 600 members and continues growing, offering Bible study programs, Sunday school and youth programs, choir and music programs, service opportunities in El Salvador, soup kitchens, disaster relief in Central America and Europe and sandwiches on the streets of Chicago with The Night Ministry. Northminster Presbyterian Church is currently led by Senior Pastor the Reverend Dr. William M. Youngblood with Associate Pastor Jessica C. Gregory.
The Northwestern University Theatre and Interpretation Center is the administrative heart of the School of Communication. This center is in charge of producing, managing, funding and administering the performing arts productions campus wide. The School of Communication, Department of Theatre and Department of Performance Studies all fall under its umbrella. More than 40 productions are put on each year, many of them directed by MFA students. The center is largely funded by nearly two thousand season subscribers.
Total Child, located within First Methodist Church of Evanston, is a nonsectarian preschool that provides morning and full-day programs for children ages 2-4. A summer explorers program is available for children ages 2-5. The facilities include five classrooms, an indoor gym, a fenced playground and a library. Total Child operates by the philosophy that children learn through activity and hands-on experiences; a positive environment inspires success. Admission is determinded through a lottery system and financial aid and fee assistance can be given to those in need.
Evantson Montessori Children's House offers full and half-day early childhood development programs. Children learn basic skills and etiquette and develop aptitude in language, mathematics, geography and science. Evantston Montessori Children's House is a non-denominational instititution open to prospective students from diverse background. Full day and half-day schedules are available online.
The MidWest Montessori School is a training school for teachers who will be teaching at local Montessori schools. Since 1992, the MMS has been offering training and observation services to teachers interested in teaching within the Montessori system. Once training is finished the graduates can go on to teach.
Chute Middle School is located in central Evanston. The public school hosts 6th through 8th grade and has more than 500 students and nearly 50 faculty and staff members. It is a part of Evanston School District 65.
The Open Studio Project is a non-profit arts and social service organization that provides stimulating visual arts and writing experiences to inspire personal growth, interpersonal understanding, and social change. Serving both the general public and the diverse community of underserved local residents, the Open Studio Project offers workshops, classes, and exhibitions as a form of open-to-the-public art therapy. Equality between facilitators and participants and no critiquing art work creates the welcoming environment that springboards participants into confronting challenges in their lives proving that, as their motto goes, art can change everything.
