Lawn Manor Primary School is one of three schools in Atwood Heights School District 125. The school serves grades Pre-K-2, including morning and afternoon kindergarten sessions and a full-day kindergarten.
Lawn Manor's educational mission is to maximize the academic achievement and social competence of all students in a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment.
The school uses the "responsiveness to intervention" model to immediately identify students who are struggling academically in order to head-off potential problems later. Students undergo educational screenings to monitor progress in class.
Lawn Manor provides a nurturing learning environment, service and character education, art, music and co-cirricular activities for a well-rounded primary school education.
There is also a "kindergarten plus" for children with late birthdays or who need extra time to grow. It's the same as the kindergarten class but with a slightly a slower pace in a smaller classroom settings.
Dist. 125 covers Alsip, Garden Homes, Merrionette Park and sections of Oak Lawn. The attendance boundaries for Oak Lawn are the east side of Kostner Avenue to west side of Pulaski Road and the south side of 127th Street to the north side of 111th Street.

A school nurse, social worker, reading specialists and instructional assistants are available to help children who may be struggling academically.
Harnew Elementary School is one of five public schools in the Ridgeland 122 School District. It was added to the district in 2000. The school features an advanced computer lab, multi-purpose gymnasium that also functions as an auditorium, a library, science lab, cafeteria and expansive playground. A school nurse, social worker, reading specialists and instructional assistants are available to help students. Pupils are given the opportunity to participate in activities ranging from fine arts to student council. An active parent organization strives to continually increase the opportunities offered to students.
Boilermakers National Joint Apprenticeship Program integrates self-study, classroom instruction and on-the-job experiences to create a training program for apprentices in the boilermaker trade. The 6,000 hour training program is designed to provide apprentices with opportunities to develop skills and technique in field erection and repair and to instill a solid work ethic. The program accepts applicants 18 and older with a minimum of high school or GED level of education. Applicants that have a welding certification or weld training qualifications are preferred. However those without prior experience are also welcome to apply.
All-Star Kids offers childcare and educational programming for children. It has been open in the Oak Lawn community since 1980. Transportation is available to and from many local schools.
