High Mountain Road Elementary School serves Franklin Lakes students in grades K through 5, as well as the Bright Horizons pre-k program. Helen Attenello serves as principal. The school provides a welcoming and supportive environment that enhances the well-being of the children.

The YMCA Child Day Care program, located at the Presbyterian Church of Franklin Lakes, is affiliated with the Wyckoff Family YMCA. The center provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to play, grow, and learn. They are open from 7:30am to 6:00pm, 51 weeks per year, and care for children from 3 months to 5 years of age.
Under the direction of Dotty Korwan, the program includes foreign language instruction, music, art, creative movement, and developmental gym classes. The center currently has 46 students and 12 staff members, several of whom are certified.
