The Elk Grove Charter School is an alternative educational resource for students in grades seven through 12. Part of the Elk Grove Unified School District, it combines classroom instruction, independent study and community and workplace experiences. An individualized learning plan is developed for each student and can include English, mathematics, science, art, computer technology and other courses.
Named after a prominent pioneer family, Foulks Ranch Elementary School was recognized by the federal government in 2004 as a National Blue Ribbon School for its success meeting the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. The school operates on a year-round calendar. Parents participate in the school community through Foulks Ranch's active Parent Teacher Organization, as well as volunteering their time to help teach art and other subjects.
Roy Herburger Elementary School is a public elementary school for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Named after the owner and publisher of the Elk Grove Citizen, an advocate and supporter of the Elk Grove School District, this elementary school provides instruction in the key academic areas, including language, mathematics, science, physical education and more.
