Family Connections offers tuition-free care for children in low-income families, through 5 years of age. It focuses on parent participation, to educate both the children and the adults and to keep the children involved. The Redwood City classroom is located in a quiet, residential part of town.
Redeemer Lutheran Church is an active neighborhood church with many young families attending. Its mission is to encourage people to pursue a lifelong joyous relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Redwood Children's Center resides next to a YMCA, allowing for children to partake in a variety of activities. Open till late evening, the Redwood Children's Center allows parents afternoon care of their children. The Center offers diverse activities to expose children to a range of mental and physical exercises.
Roots and Wings Montessori School offers education for children ages 2-6. It provides morning-only, afternoon-only and full-day sessions. Roots and Wings Montessori school's goal is to promote academic abilities, independence and choice.
Seaport Academy is an independent private school. With a small enrollment, it can focus on individual students. Students learn basic skills plus cultural and aesthetic experiences. By teaching grades kindergarten through 12th grade, the educators can monitor progression throughout the child's entire schooling.
The Henry Ford School teaches kindergarten to fifth grade in a unique staff program called the "Professional Learning Community." The staff is experienced in differentiating instruction so all students can learn in a curriculum that best suits their needs.
The school is dedicated to "work hard, play hard" and offers a number of "character education," art, music and physical education classes. The school garden provides students an area where they can learn about sustainability and nutrition. Police Activity League (PAL) sports, Redwood City Park and Recreation Services and a Child Development Center (CDC) are all on site.
Some of the school's traditional events include the annual Fall Fiesta, Field Day, Movie Nights and the end of the year Pasta Dinner. We liaison with private enterprise and our own staff to bring after-school programs such as art and individual music lessons.
