Paragon Montessori is a home school that works with students at young ages. It's located in a neighborhood near downtown. This school also has an area for exercise and playing.
For 47 years, Heather Elementary School has sat atop the San Carlos Hills on 11 acres of land. Serving grades K-4, Heather is one of four elementary schools in San Carlos and is also a public charter school.

Established in 1975, West Bay High School is a nonprofit learning center and accredited school located on Laurel Street in San Carlos. The school offers home study programs for special needs students and an accelerated program for students 18 and older. The goal is a high school diploma. The school serves an average of 65 students who have fallen behind and need to catch up. Two teachers share the pedagogical responsibilities.
The Edison Montessori School is a preschool for children ages 2 to 5. Located alongside theTierra Linda High School, which it shares a parking lot with, the school offers activities that help children learn, gain exercise and socialize. A private school of about 35 students, the school offers many activities and engagements for students and teachers.
Tierra Linda Middle School provides schooling for students in grades 5-8. Students are required to maintain a grade point average of at least 2.0. According to the most recent Academic Performance Index statistics, the school has received the highest score of 10, more than other schools in the area.
