Northern High School is a four-year public high school operated by the Calvert County Public School System. It offers various education and enrichment programs to students in grades nine through 12. The school offers college preparatory courses in various subjects, including business, computer, science, English, foreign language, math, music and social studies. The school additionally provides physical education, athletic and Junior Reserve Officer s Training Corps program. It offers various extracurricular activities and clubs, such a dance, theater, jazz band, symphonic band, percussion, yearbook, and the Future Teachers of America, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the International Thespian Society and the National Art Honor Society. The school also has a media center offering a large collection of reference books, periodicals, newspapers, Internet access and services, such as a copier, printer and computer. Located in Owings, Md., the school is approved by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the state of Maryland.
