Berkeley Bowl is a grocery store and a Bay Area institution. Open at its original location since 1977, the newer Oregon Street location is gigantic and stocks a huge selection of produce, as well as bulk items, ethnic foods, alcohol and other staples. Independently run, the store also houses a café and more gourmet items.
A sister store of Crate & Barrel, CB2 is a modern furnishings and home accessories store targeting young adults. This Berkeley location is in a high-ceilinged space previously occupied by Cody's bookstore. CB2 sells modern furniture and accessories such as rugs, bedding and bath linens, mirrors, dishes, glassware and decorative items.
There is some free parking available in the lot next door, but most parking is metered and on the street.
Easy Liquor stocks many types of domestic beer, including Bud Light and Landshark Lager. It has several wines to choose from, and hard liquor like tequila and vodka. It also sells most major brands of cigarettes by the pack or the carton. If you'd like a California lottery ticket, there is a machine available close to the front counter. Soda, potato chips, and lighters are also available for purchase. Please note that no loitering or drinking is allowed on or in front of the premises.
