The Shrine Center houses a masonry fraternal organization for men, aiming to give back to the community and support philanthropic efforts. The freemasons arrange blood drives, child safety programs, scholarships and other programs. Several Asiya units meet at the Shrine Center in San Mateo.
Osman Shrine's headquarters are in the Lost Spur Golf Course and the City View Conference Center. It supports the Shriner hospitals for children. The Shrine fraternity, founded in 1978, and community donors allow for the Shriner hospitals to provide great pediatric care at no cost to the families. Some of the conditions treated include juvenile arthritis, rickets, spine deformities, scoliosis and sports injuries. There are a total of 17 clubs in Minnesota, and they raise money by having parades in the summer and putting on a car show in July.
