3rd Lair Skatepark & Skateshop is the only indoor skate park open to the public in the Twin Cities metro area. Its facilities include 20,000 square feet of half pipes, quarter pipes, launch ramps and grind rails. The park also has outdoor facilities and caters to scooters, inlining, BMX, wheelchairs and even unicycles in addition to skateboarding.
The skatepark is equipped with a professionally staffed pro shop and is open to the public seven days a week.
Local skater Doug Brown saw a lack of skate shops in the area and so he opened his own. With one other location in Mamaroneck, 2nd Nature is working to expand the Westchester skate scene with its selection of footwear, apparel and skateboards, some of which are designed in house. This location is also home to an indoor skate park.
Kiwanis Park is home to Lakewood's largest skate park. The 12,ooo square-foot, in-ground concrete skate park is extremely popular with youth from around the region. The park also has play equipment, seasonal restrooms and a walking path. It is well-groomed and has tall trees as well as benches and permanent picnic tables.
