Catholic Charities in Carlsbad is the only homeless shelter open 365 days a year in North County. The shelter is for men ages 18 and up and has a maximum capacity of 50. 

Catholic Charities offers shelter, two meals a day, showers and a place to wash clothing. It works with other local agencies to help the men find jobs, housing and health care. There is a strict no drugs, alcohol or pets policy. 

During the day, the people at the shelter are required to be off-premises. In the evening, volleyball and basketball games are a popular activities.

San Diego Regional Center, located in San Marcos, Calif., is a private, nonprofit organization that provides services outlined in the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act. It serves individuals with disabilities living in San Diego and Imperial counties in California. It provides a wide range of services, including case finding and intake, assessment, diagnosis, evaluation and counseling, monitoring and evaluation, development of an individual program plan, individual family service plan, and coordination of services.
