Kehillah High School is an accredited private high school closely tied to the Jewish community. Just across the street from Palo Alto JCC, Kehillah promotes Jewish values such as chesed (loving kindness), emet (pursuit of truth) and hakarat hatov (gratitude) in all aspects of community life. The school prides itself on academic rigor, while maintaining a robust offering of extracurricular activities, from performing arts to sports and community service.
The Transitional Program is a community mental health clinic. They provide ajunct therapy to clients on the recommendation of their therapist and/or physician. Classes are available for stress reduction, self-care and confidence, self-regulation, and more. They also offer training for graduate students of clinical psychology. JFCS offers a wide variety of social services including counceling, parent education, home care for seniors and a wide variety of other assistances designed to help families and individuals deal with the changes in their lives. Programs include Seniors At Home, which assists the more mature members of society to continue to live in dignity at their homes, and Parent's Place, a resource for those looking to better take care of their children.
Parents Place Family Resource Center is a program for Jewish families and childrens services in the Palo Alto area. It provides programs for kids as well as parenting classes for adults.
The Friendship Circle is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive Jewish community for special needs children, teen volunteers and their families. Programs include Sunday Circle, Teen Scene, Winter and Summer camps, and Jewish holiday programs. Teens in 8th through 12th grade can volunteer in various programs and activities. The organization also hosts workshops, lectures and relaxing nights out for parents with special needs children.
Opened in 1979, Ronald McDonald House at Stanford is a temporary home for families with critically ill children who are receiving specialized treatment at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. The House can accommodate 47 families in private rooms with baths. There are communal cooking and dining facilities, and a wide variety of amenities and programs onsite to help provide a supportive environment to families going through a challenging time.
