IRIS Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services is a program of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut and is the local affiliate of Episcopal Migration Ministries and the. IRIS resettles approximately 100 refugees each year. IRIS also provides some services to asylees and other immigrants. Currently, over half of IRISs refugee clients come from Iraq. Others come from Afghanistan, Congo, Cuba, Ethiopia, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, and other countries. IRIS is funded by the US Departments of State and Health and Human Services ( Office of Refugee Resettlement ), Episcopal Migration Ministries, Church World Service, CT Department of Social Services, CT Department of Education, United Way of Greater New Haven, Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, Casey Family Services & the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Carolyn Foundation, Bissell Foundation, Empower New Haven, New Haven Community Development Block Grant, Stratton Faxon, churches, synagogues, organizations and businesses around the state, and individual contributions.

The Area Agency on Aging is a division of the CSRA Regional Development Center. The agency provides information on new Medicare prescription drug programs, home and community-based services, caregiver programs and elder rights programs in Georgia. The purpose of the Area Agency on Aging is to ease the demands placed on people taking care of elderly or functionally impaired loved ones by providing information and referrals for caregivers; emotional support through support group development and listening sessions; and community education for employers, faith-based ministries and the general public. Founded in 1987, the Mercy Learning Center offers a range of educational opportunities to low-income women in Greater Bridgeport in Connecticut. Also known as MLC, the center provides financial literacy and life skills development classes. It administers the English as a Second Language program. Sterling House is one the architectural gems of Stratford. The Romanesque-style mansion, registered in the National Registry of Historic Homes and built by architect Bruce Price of New York, was built on Main Street in 1886 by John Sterling, whose family was among Stratford's oldest and richest.

The mansion was donated by the Sterling family to the town of Stratford in 1931 during the Great Depression with the stipulation that it be used as a community center. The property has since been held in trust by the town. In addition to its unique architectural features, the grounds at Sterling House were designed by the famed New York City Central Park landscape designer Frederick Law Olmstead.

Today, a variety of community services are offered at Sterling House, including programs for youths and adults, recreational activities, a child development center and a summer youth program. Sterling House also has a food bank.

Sterling House derives its funding from several sources, including contributions, fundraising and special events (35%), fees and dues (52%), support from the town of Stratford (11%) and rental/other (2%).

Established in 1985, Waterbury Youth Service System is a nonprofit agency dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth in the Greater Waterbury region in Connecticut. The Alzheimer's Association provides services for both those suffering from Alzheimer's disease and family members who often are the caretakers. There are four Alzheimer's Association chapters of the national organization in Connecticut aside from the Hamden office: in Rocky Hill, Norwich, Norwalk and New Milford.

The chapter offers telephone support 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It also offers training programs for caregivers, as well as support and educational programs. 

The association also is active in raising money for research into finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease, which is its ultimate goal.

The Child Guidance Center of Greater Bridgeport, Conn., was founded in 1925 to provide for the emotional and psychological welfare of children and their families living in the area. The center offers a wide range of outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling services for children under the age of 18, as well as a variety of in-home supportive services to their families. The center operates three outpatient clinics located in Bridgeport, Stratford and Fairfield, Conn., in addition to offering services from a number of community agencies throughout Bridgeport. Its services are available in both English and Spanish.
