We had to do something. When you know that children in your hometown are being neglected or abused or abandoned, you cant just ignore it. Its true what they say, "If youre not part of the solution, youre a part of the problem." Christian Family Services, Inc, (CFS) was established in 1973 by the Churches of Christ in the St. Louis Area. Their interest was to serve children in need of temporary care outside their own homes. Since our beginning, CFS has expanded its work to include adoptive care for children and counseling for individuals and families. The agencys purpose is to serve God by touching the lives of the community, showing them His love. CFS is a non-profit child-placing agency licensed in Missouri and Illinois and supported by several area churches and many generous donors. Though all foster parents, adoptive parents, and staff are Christian, services are provided to foster children, adoptive children, natural parents, and counseling clients without regard to religious affiliation. Christian Family Services, Inc, is a member of the Christian Child and Family Services Association, a national organization of child-placing agencies.
