Shore Early Intervention is a guiding light for persons with developmental disabilities, seeking to improve their quality of life through residential, vocational and related programs. The school was founded in 1949 in Evanston, and began helping mentally retarded children. As the years went by, Shore Early Intervention became a private, not-for-profit organization and in 2005 opened this location on Oakton street. This location houses the early childhood intervention program.

Founded in 1999, the mission of The Douglas Center is to provide assistance for those with special needs, including work programs, developmental rehabilitation, vocational skills training and a seniors program to adults with developmental disabilities. Specifically, the program offers a wide variety of services to clients, such as a janitorial skills training program and a developmental skills program for clients with severe/profound developmentally disabilities. There's also a focus on developing and/or improving existing social skills, as well as independent living skill.

Les Turner was a Chicago area businessman who was diagnosed with ALS in 1976. Frustrated by the lack of information and research on ALS at the time, he didn't want anyone else to have to suffer without knowledge as he did. His family and friends started the Foundation that bears his name in 1977.

Les Turner passed away in 1977 at the age of 38. Thirty years later, the Les Turner ALS Foundation is recognized as a local and national leader in research, patient care and education about ALS.

The Niles Township Food Pantry exists to help those in need of fundamental foods like pasta, breads, cereal, tuna and peanut butter. The pantry wants to make sure that every person has the food they need to sustain themselves and they are always seeking donations to help the 2,700 plus individuals (on average) who use the pantry each month. To receive their services, come with a valid photo ID. Further information may be required upon second visit.

The institution provides 24-hour and intermittent residential services and employment. It provides respite for families with young children who have developmental disorders, recreation for such people in nursing homes, and day activities for seniors. Orchard Village offers programs in various areas including improving the health of clients; providing differentiated residential and day programs for senior citizens with developmental disorders; and transitional services for young adults and others wishing to live and work more independently.

AngelCare Home Healthcare's trained aides and nursing assistants provide assistance with adult daily living needs, senior living, elderly care, as well as homemaking activities and companionship. AngelCare tries to assign a caregiver who not only meets the needs and skills required to take care of a client, but also a good personality match. AngelCare can provide 24-hour home care or as little as one hour for one day a week, and everything in between.
