Family Service of Greater New Orleans was started as the Charity Organization Society in 1896. It is a community-based, nonprofit organization that provides counseling services for individuals, couples, adolescents, children and families. It offers a wide range of programs that includes counseling and assistance to troubled children, young mothers, victims of substance abuse, job seekers, former prisoners, single parents and veterans. The agency, located in New Orleans, also provides help to employers by offering counseling services to their work force.
