Founded in 1975, The Westfield Foundation is a philanthropic, non-profit organization dedicated to using funds to address concerns in Westfield, respond to the needs of the community and sustain the area's agencies and institutions. The Foundation is a holding corporation for various private endowments for scholarship funds and other community groups. It is one of a handful of community foundations in New Jersey.
The Westfield United Fund raises and distributes money to social service agencies throughout Westfield. In 2009, it ended its longstanding relationship with the United Way and changed it's name back to its original name: United Fund.
Founded in 1918, the Youth & Family Counseling Service (YFCS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing mental health and well-being services to kids and families throughout Union County (Westfield, Rahway, Scotch Plains, Garwood, Mountainside, Clark, Cranford and Berkeley Heights).
YFCS is one of the few regional counseling centers that offers “family systems”-based psychological counseling, education, crisis intervention, prevention and support services for individuals of all income levels. YFCS has served and empowered over 50,000 individuals throughout the community since it opened.
Mobile Meals of Westfield is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides meals to the homebound in Westfield and the surrounding communities. It serves both hot and cold meals five days a week. The meals are planned by a nutritionist and prepared by a trained cook in the First Baptist Church in Westfield.
