Founded in 1978, the Adelante Development Center is a nonprofit agency that provides a variety of support services for people with disabilities. It offers accounting, finance, administrative support, technical and maintenance services. The agency also provides vocational and life skills training and community living services. The Adelante Development Center additionally offers volunteer opportunities and employment services for more than 500 individuals with disabilities. It also provides day habilitation and assistive technology services. In addition, the agency offers group and individual games, arts and crafts activities and shopping services for senior citizens. The Adelante Development Center is staffed with over 800 people. It also provides ongoing and intensive training programs that focus on issues related to person-centered planning and sign language.
