Lincoln County R-III School District has been operational for more than 100 years. Approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the district enrolls more than 5,000 students in grades kindergarten through 12. It employs more than 100 academic and special education teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychological examiners, paraprofessionals, guidance counselors, and night custodians. Based in Troy, Mo, it comprises more than 15 elementary, middle and high schools and special education centers. The school district utilizes various classroom strategies and practices, such as cooperative learning, peer tutoring, teacher guidance, team teaching, differentiated instruction, multiple path learning, looping classroom, and teaming solutions. It also uses academic intervention and guidance, testing sessions, counseling, study skill work, monitoring procedures, partners in education program, multiage classroom method, and integrated curriculum.
