For more than 40 years, the Pacific Asia Museum has been celebrating and sharing the arts and cultures of Asia and the Pacific Islands, promoting intercultural education and understanding. The items on view here span some 5,000 years and represent China, Japan, Korea, the Pacific Islands and the Himalayas, and include Edo-period Japanese paintings, tapa, or cloth made of bark, from the South Pacific and a collection of Buddhist art from throughout Asia.
Pasadena Museum of History houses collections of items dating back through Pasadena's history, and hosts a variety of programs, exhibits and activities for adults and children of all ages, along with lectures, seminars, classes and workshops. Guided tours of the Fenyes Mansion and the Finnish Folk Art Museum are also available. In addition, the museum store features the work of local artists and craftspeople as well as books and educational material on Pasadena and unique gift items.
