Discretely tucked way in Argyle Park off of Forest Glen Rd., and established in the 1970s, this YMCA branch specializes in counseling and therapy services for individuals, families and groups. Core services include one-on-one mentoring, bullying prevention, Internet safety education, leadership and skill development, suicide prevention, tutoring, substance abuse prevention, case management, pregnancy prevention and support programs, parenting classes and much more. Outdoor activities and summer camp activities are also available.
Through these and other services and programs, the staff at YMCA Youth & Family Services of Bethesda and Silver Springs aims to build strong kids, strong communities and strong families.
This YMCA mainly provides services for youth and families. There are no sports teams.
Twin Farms Club is a swimming and tennis club that offers, among others, an L-shaped pool with 2 diving boards, a separate fenced-in kiddie pool area, picnic tables and gas grill, night-lit, swimming and tennis lessons, a basketball and volleyball court, ping pong and horse shoes, ice cream and snacks, raft days, teen nights, ice cream socials and movie nights. A discounted membership is available in August.
Robin Hood Swim Club is located in Silver Spring Maryland. Membership offers tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, swimming lessons for kids, access to a sheltered picnic area, an enclosed kiddie pool and play area and more. Robin Hood also hosts parties and socials for kids and adults.
