The North, South and Central Redondo Beach little league teams combined to form Redondo Beach Little League. It's a non-profit, volunteer-run youth baseball sports organization. The volunteers coach teams, maintain fields and sell snacks and refreshments at the games.
Redondo Beach Youth Basketball Association is a nonprofit group that coaches boys and girls, aged 8–18, in basketball skills and training. It offers classes and programs depending on the different age groups and also holds tournaments and games at its facility. The association works in conjunction with the school district to provide education and involvement in team-oriented sports.
This tennis facility directly behind the Alta Vista Community Center features eight full-sized lit tennis courts and two regulation-sized indoor racquetball courts. In order to play at the courts, sign up to become a member of the Community Center. Annual fees are only $12 and the courts are priced per hour.
The air temperature around the two pools (named Fiji and Tahiti) is always 84 degrees, so children are happy and comfortable in this fun, friendly and family-oriented environment. Classes are kept small and manageable. The Fiji pool ranges from two to four feet in depth; the Tahiti pool ranges from two and a half to five feet in depth.
South Bay Aquatics does pool parties too, so you can treat your kids to summer in the middle of a cold snap.
Please note that although South Bay Aquatic signs are everywhere, the building is shared with other businesses. The entrance to South Bay Aquatics is at the rear of the parking lot where two tall palms frame the door.
