Funded by the city for the use of all Alexandria residents, this recreation center provides a large gym, outside pool and inside game room. The center, which is situated in the northwest quadrant of the city, provides an outlet for disadvantaged children in nearby neighborhoods, as well as seniors and others who need a place to go. The Center also offers a substance abuse program.
The Oak Marr Rec Center features an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool, spa, and diving complex with three-meter and boards. It also features two racquetball courts, fitness centers, sauna, and locker rooms.

For drivers that accumulate points on their driving records and are ordered to take a driver improvement clinic, Absolute offers the required eight one-hour sessions. For the driving teen, Buddy System Discounts are offered.
Sleepy Hollow Bath & Racquet Club opened in 1956 as a private club and it was sold four years later to the community. Since then, this summer-only club has been offering a place for families to have fun and exercise. It features nine tennis courts, Olympic-sized and children-only pools, gazebos and picnic areas. Membership is required.
James Lee Community Center (JLCC) is one of the most active and vibrant centers in Fairfax County. JLCC is a large, clean and fun facility with lots of outdoor activities. JLCC has baseball fields, a football field, tennis and basketball courts, a playground for kids and plenty of space for your outdoor activities. The inside of JLCC is spacious, inviting and usually filled with kids and families. All kinds of community services and classes are available at JLCC. The building plays host to Literacy Council of Northern Virginia where adult English classes are offered. Other offerings include cheerleading, basketball leagues, a computer club house and shows from local theater troupes. It's a great place for family and kids.
