This is the business office and showroom for Academy Stampand Autograph, a source for collectors of stamps, autographs and historic documents. It was founded more than 50 years ago by Marshall Goldberg, a collector. It remains a family business. It sells stamps and autographs, as well as working an appraiser. It will place value on individual items or complete collections for banks, insurance companies and individuals. Some of the highlights from the collection are a 1894 Orange Jefferson stamp, one of the first stamps issued by the newly formed State of Hawaii, and a collection of pre-colony stamps that were used in the soon-to-be America.
Fischer-Wolk is one of the only stamp collection shops in the city. Here, they have antique stamps, collecting kits, supplies, stamp books, postcards and memorabilla. Besides the selling of certain stamps, this location will also buy and trade from your collection. The store is a tiny shop with a counter stocked full of historical stamps.
