Connecticut's Stamford and Norwalk Judicial District encompasses the cities of Stamford and Norwalk, as well as the towns of Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport and Weston. The district's Superior Court handles criminal, civil, family and juvenile case.
The courthouse opened in 2002 and combined separate buildings that held the Stamford-Norwalk Judicial District offices, the Superior Court, juvenile court and the Office of Adult Probation. The building is 250,000 square feet and features seven criminal jury courtrooms, six civil jury courtrooms, two arraignment courts, two civil non-jury courtrooms, two family courtrooms, one housing courtroom, and two juvenile matters courtrooms. It also features a public law library, a court service center and a public information desk.
