Alabama Department of Revenue Property Tax is a division of the Alabama Department of Revenue. Its role is to oversee the reappraisal of property in Alabama to set schedules, standards and procedures for equalization of all property values in all counties. All taxable real estate and personal property is assessed on the local level at the county courthouse. The Property Tax division is located along Ripley Street in Montgomery, Ala. The Alabama Department of Revenue is responsible for collection of all income, property and sales tax in Alabama.
