The Parks and Recreation Division is responsible for the maintenance of a range of facilities. The division is a part of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, which promotes the reforestation of properties. The department focuses on the conversion and management of natural resources. Also known as DNRE, it provides and develops facilities for outdoor recreation, as well as prevents the destruction of forests. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment offers a variety of hunting, fishing, trapping, tracking and camping opportunities. In addition, the department protects lakes and streams from pollution. It is a part of the government of the State of Michigan.
