The YMCA is a national non-profit community outreach organization. This group strives to enrich local lives and strengthen ties throughout the community by educating the youth and offering help to families in the growth, education, health, well being, fitness and overall development of young people. The YMCA of Highpoint also seeks to offer a wide variety off fitness programs, educational classes and various programs for adults on nights and weekends. This particular YMCA facility offers a wide variety of amenities and after-school programs for the enjoyment of its patrons. With more than 10 locations throughout the area, the Suncoast YMCAs serve more than 84,000 members throughout Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
The Clearwater Aquatic Team offers programs for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Private and group lessons, as well as competitive swim teams, are available for various age groups. Team activities take place at the Long Center, which features an Olympic-size pool and a smaller training pool. CAT has produced many swimmers of distinction, including Olympic trials qualifiers and Florida State Junior Olympic champions.
