Located just three miles west of Downtown Atlanta, Mozley Park includes a 100-person pavilion with a grill, a playground, two picnic shelters, two lighted softball fields, a tennis court, a basketball court, two multi-use courts, a PATH trail, a swimming pool and a recreation center.
The park is maintained by the city's Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. For park reservations, call 404-546-6757. To reserve a pavilion, call the reservation number and be prepared to submit an application. As with all city parks, Mozley Park is governed by the city's Office of Parks official Park Use Rules and Guidelines.
Highland Athletic Club is an athletics facility located on the campus of the Atlanta Medical Center. The 30,000 square foot facility contains a full basketball court and two racquetball courts, an indoor track and a variety of services such as body composition testing, Quantum weight machines, a heated indoor pool, recumbent/upright exercise bikes and more. There are also a number of classes including aerobics classes, aquatic therapy classes, weight-loss classes and stress management/relaxation classes. Memberships are available in individual, couples and family variations and there is no initiation fee required for new members.
The Cochise Riverview Club is a private swim, tennis and meeting facility for its members who are residents of the Vinings community. Members must live within the boundaries of certain designated areas in the Club By-Laws. In addition to the swimming pool and tennis courts, the Cochise Club boasts a playground and an outdoor field for soccer, softball or kickball. Members can reserve portions of the club, including the barbecue and pool area, clubhouse, playground and soccer field, for special parties and occasions.
Garden Hills Park, the centerpiece of the Garden Hills neighborhood, is a gathering place for friends and families. During summertime, the pool is full of kids, moms and dads. The community center welcomes community meetings, parties and musical events. A open field is the site of soccer games, kite flying, Frisbee and other activities. An annual highlight is the neighborhood ice cream social. The Garden Hills Neighborhood Foundation (www.ghnf.org) supports the city-owned park.
Flex is a private men only fitness and spa located in in midtown. They offer private rooms and saunas, swimming pools. The staff is all male and the facility is very clean and well kept.
Dynamo Swim Club is a private swimming facility with two large indoor pools. Those interested in joining can find membership programs on Dynamo's website, along with description of its swim programs, junior leagues, lessons and sponsors. It's a well-run club with an attentive, kind staff.
School children run through Oakland City Park, squirrels chase each other up a tree and a couple play with their infant children on the playground on a warm Thursday afternoon.
The park on Oakland Drive, within walking distance from Oakland City train station, has all the traditional features of a community park complete with fields for basketball, baseball and softball, a pool (which is opened in the Summer) a pavilion and picnic areas.
No glass containers, sales of goods or illegal substances are allowed on the ball fields or near the pool area. See the posted rules for each field for a more detailed listing.

Lake Claire Pool is a private pool located in the Lake Claire neighborhood east of Atlanta. There are 400 members and a swim team (the Lake Claire Wahoo) and swim lessons are available.
Kittredge Park is operated by the DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs. It includes a public swimming pool open in the summer, a baseball field, a multi-purpose field and a large wildlife sanctuary.
