Gone Bananas has been a staple on Mission Beach for over 30 years. Since 1975 Gone Bananas has been searching for the hottest trends and beachwear for women in San Diego and beyond. It has now grown to be one of the largest swimwear boutiques anywhere. We now have over 15, 000 pieces of womens swimwear year round. Owner Tom OHara has watched Gone Bananas evolve from a boutique searching for its identity to a beach fashion staple. Gone Bananas once reached over 6 stores around San Diego county but Tom OHara wanted to scale back to focus primarily on its growing beach identity. Now the sole 2500 sq.ft. Mission Beach location is the foremost place to find the hottest new trends in swimwear. To keep the familiar and friendly atmosphere that has been a Gone Bananas staple Toms two sons are now making this a family business.
