Congregation Tikvat Jacob is a conservative synagogue located on North Sepulveda Boulevard in Manhattan Beach. In addition to regular services and community events, the temple offers preschool, adult education, summer camp and religious school programs. Temple Beth El of South Orange County is the largest synagogue in the area. It serves more than 650 households. All are welcome, regardless of economic status, marital status, sexual orientation, personal beliefs or upbringing. Its school educates children from preschool to high school. There is an abundance of social opportunities, including Sisterhood and Men's Club, Chavurah groups, youth groups and many ongoing events and Jewish celebrations. Started in 1999, this 67,000 square-foot Jewish Community Center is considered one of Los Angeles County's nicest JCCs. Home to three full-time Rabbis and 56 employees, it provides a wide range of services and programs for its community. It has no membership policy, which makes its programs accessible to all. This JCC offers social programs including friendship circle, senior club and Ray Carroll Holiday Gift Drive.
Congregration B'nai Chaim has been serving the Murrieta/Temecula Valley since 1972. Headed up by Rabbi Barry Ulrych, the synagogue offers those of Liberal/Conservative Jewish faith a place to worship and gather.
Hebrew classes are offered for preschool through pre-bar/bat mitzvah ages. Conversion classes and Torah-reading classes are offered for adults. A gift shop located at the center is stocked with jewelry, mezuzahs, challah platters, menorahs and much more.
And if it's a Wednesday night, Bingo is happening; community members are invited to take part.
This aerobics instructor offers day and evening jazzercise classes. Jazzercise is a workout system that combines aerobics, yoga, Pilates, hip hop and kickboxing movements into dance routines. The Temple Israel is right next to the Harbor Bay Landing commercial complex on Bay Farm Island.
The Kehillat Ma'arav Synagogue offers weekly Shabbat services each Saturday at 9:30am and montly Shabbat services on the first Friday of each month at 6:30pm. Educational opportunities for adults are offered, including Introduction to Judaism, Insights to the Bible and Adult B'nai Mitzvah. Religious school is open to youths in kindergarte through 7th grade, and a BiYachad program is open to those in grades eight through 10.
The Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue offers a variety of religious services and activities. It also has a preschool program for children ages 2 to 5. MJC&S is a member of the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation. The head rabbi is Judith HaLevy. The cantor is Marcelo Gindlin, who is recognized internationally for his vocal talent.
