At Full Moon Tattoo, owner Joe Schaumann does all the inking and piercing himself. The shop is a vibrant blue and very clean, with two industrial padded chairs and a lounge area with a couch and magazines. Opened in July 2010, Full Moon's located across the street from Burger King on the north side of Route 176, just west of Route 31. 

Area 51, in the heart of historic downtown Crystal Lake, is one of two major tattoo shops in the city. It can provide safe piercings, and with three seasoned tattoo artists on-site, a range of tattoos. Appointments are highly recommended.

Since 1992, Black Ink Tattoo has been providing Crystal Lake residents with high quality tattoos in a safe, clean environment. Black Ink is owned and operated by Crystal Lake resident Dan Serafino. Dan loves to do tribal tattoos, particularly hand-drawn designs from Samoa, Borneo and Polynesia.
