BP Carson Refinery is one of the leading producers of low-emission gasoline in California. It processes more than 275,000 barrels of oil per day into gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and petroleum coke. The refinery serves over 25 percent of the Los Angeles gasoline market. BP Carson Refinery also produces electricity to meet the needs of nearly 400,000 homes in the Los Angeles Basin. It maintains a staff of more than 1,100 employees. The refinery is owned and operated by BP America, which is one of the largest investors for energy development in the United States. BP America provides and supplies natural gas, lubricants, and aviation and marine fuels. It operates fuel stations and offers fuel cards for customers. BP America is a part of BP, which is a global energy group that employs more than 96,000 people and operates in over 100 countries worldwide.
