Sylvan Learning Center helps give kids the extra boost they need to succeed in school. From math to reading to writing, Sylvan has tutors who can offer customize tutoring programs depending on students' needs. The Crofton center has grown tremendously since being founded in 2008. IBM Thinkpads are used for instruction, and one of the highlights for students is that they can collect the highly popular 'praise tokens' for achieving their goals and trade them in to shop at the Sylvan store that is always stocked with goodies.
Huntington Learning Center works with students from age 5 to 17, tutoring them in all the primary subjects (math, reading, writing) as well as in preparation for standardized tests such as the SAT, PSAT and ACT. Started in 1977, the center also helps students improve their study skills.
Founded by David Kim and Jim Narangajavana in 1997, C2 Education Center offers tutoring for college prep exams, entrance exams, math, reading, writing, homework, study skills, enrichment skills and shadow classes. They focus on lengthening study hours and helping to increase their student's testing capabilities. Call them to set up an appointment for a diagnostic test.
The Catonsville Historic Mansion is located on the Community College of Baltimore County campus and was built in the 1800s. The location has been renovated and turned into the Center for Global Education. The new facility will allow for students to take global-centered classes as well as host special events and will also display artifacts and photographs of the historic building.
