Coconut Cafe is a small, neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Newton Center, that serves fresh Bangkok-style Thai food for dine-in and take-out. It serves a variety of appetizers, rice and noodle dishes, as well as Thai herb soups, Thai noodle soups, salads, appetizers, special Thai dishes, wok stir-fry and curry dishes. Its menu is extensive. Chicken Asparagus, chicken mango curry, seafood a la Samui and tofu ginger noodles are popular. There is a second location in Wellesley.
Due to the overwhelming success of the original Spice Thai Kitchen located in Ipswich, Spice Thai Kitchen II launched in Melrose. The same succulent, sometimes spicy Thai dishes appear on the menu and the quality of both the food and the service is consistently excellent. For the more daring—ask for the restaurant's spicier speciality dishes, such as, the Lychee Shrimp or the Ga Pao Gai. For the more faint of tongue—enjoy some of the more standard, yet just as delicious dishes, such as, Pad Thai, Udon Basil and Pad See-U.

There is a full lunch special menu complete with appetizers and combination plates. The restaurant has only eight tables, so be sure to arrive early or use call-ahead seating. The Bangkok Spice also now serves beer and wine.

Customers can take advantage of free WiFi while they enjoy meals from an extensive menu, which includes traditional Thai cuisine such as Pad Thai, Lemon Grass Chicken and curry dishes, as well as gluten-free, vegetarian and low-calorie offerings. Reservations are suggested for groups of six or more. Thai Place also offers catering. The staff is courteous and pleasant, and the prices are reasonable for a fine dining experience.
