Since its reopening in 1994, the Community Theatre in Morristown has been hosting events and performances that range from headlining musicians, such as Peter Frampton and Tony Bennett, to comedians, orchestras and ballets. Built in 1937, the Community Theatre has always been a supporter of the arts and has become an important landmark here in Morristown. Bergen Performing Arts Center is a nonprofit theater that hosts a wide variety of live entertainment. Some types of entertainment are comedians, bands, orchestras, ballets and more. It hosts 150 different events each year. The box office is open 2 hours before show time as well as its regular hours.
The Algonquin Arts Theater is a non profit that not only provides a plethora of fantastic performances, it is aggressively involved with the community. Home to the Somerset Valley Players, this 100-seat theater was originally a one-room schoolhouse that the players moved into in 1980. Prior to finding its current home, the players rotated between various schools in Hillsborough and Somerville.
The playhouse hosts several shows each year, ranging from comedic plays to dramatic musicals, and also offers several children's shows. The playhouse offers both season ticketing options for the number of shows one wishes to see, and also provides online, e-mail and phone ticket sales for individual shows. Individual tickets cost $18 for an adult ticket to a musical and $15 for an adult ticket to a non-musical presentation.
Chatham Community Players have entertained members of Chatham community and surrounding areas since 1922. They are a key constituent to the artistic community of Chatham. The Players operate a number of programs including Jersey Voices, Chatham Players Mainstage, Outreach, Joint Theater Program and Fantasy Theater.
Tickets are available two weeks prior to a performance or during the week of a performance on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 7:30pm - 8pm.
