Since our very first production, Madame President in 1966, we have presented over 235 musicals, dramas, comedies, dinner theatre, melodramas, comedies, mysteries youth productions and original reviews. Currently, the Playhouse produces five shows ( plays & musicals ) during the regular season ( September through June ) plus a full youth theatre program with workshops and summer productions. The Playhouse is continually grateful to the hundreds of people who have contributed their time, enthusiasm, energies, talents and financial support - without these people, we would not exist. We are indebted to our casts, crews, productions staff, orchestra and audiences, and proud that we are all united by our shared love of the stage. The Whidbey Playhouse relies on the financial support and active involvement of the community. The generous support of our membership and donors has allowed us to grow and prosper for 43 years. Please consider becoming involved! We are a totally volunteer organization so if you feel the urge to "get out and do something", consider auditioning or volunteering for one of our productions. There is always a need for set builders, costumers, stagehands, ushers, etc. On or off the stage, the Whidbey Playhouse is fun! Season memberships are needed for the continued success of our theatre. When you become a season ticket holder, you will be helping to support an exciting tradition of community theatre on Whidbey Island. Our community theatre could not exist without the past, present, and continued support of our season ticket holders. So we hope that your enjoyment of our productions has been and will continue to be repayment of your faith and support of Whidbey Playhouse The Whidbey Playhouse is governed by a working Board of Directors and has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a nonprofit tax exempt organization under section: 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) of the Internal Revenue Code. Playhouse Membership is only $20 individual or $35 family for the year! We have various social events throughout the year, often with a program of something or someone of interest to the membership.

Founded in 1991, Seattle Shakespeare Company presents year-round productions of classical plays. In our indoor home at the Center House Theatre at Seattle Center, we produce a season of play by Shakespeare and other classic authors. During the summer our free, outdoor Wooden O productions tour to parks in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. Our nimble state-wide touring productions feature 90-minute versions of Shakespeares works that play in schools and other venues. Our innovative education programs include school residencies, workshops, classes and camps during school breaks. We believe that the plays of William Shakespeare and other classic playwrights are timeless works that cross social and cultural boundaries. With their rich themes and wide gallery of characters, these plays examine the full breadth of human experience: love, jealousy, loyalty, leadership, passion, vengeance, romance, ambition, and humor. Within these time-tested works are insights that continue to sing to contemporary audiences, and that is why we believe our region deserves a theatre committed to first-rate, professional productions of Shakespeare and the classics.
