Located on a quiet street off of the main strip of Contra Costa Boulevard, Youth Homes Auxiliary Thrift Shop provides support to the non-profit it borrows its name from. The store specializes in quality appliances, clothing and art. All employees are volunteers. The proceeds from the thrift shop go to benefit the children of Youth Homes.
This auxiliary of the Los Angeles Children's Hospital is run by helpful volunteers and all proceeds support the hospital. The varied and interesting selection of items and quirky selection of goods includes slippers, linens and VHS tapes. On top of the great selection, most items only cost a couple of dollars.
This thrift shop is run by the Brother Benno Foundation, a non-profit religious organization that is associated with the nearby historic Mission San Juan Rey Parish. The shop accepts donations of clothing and household items. Shoppers can find clothing for children, men and women, as well as a selection of appliances, books and children's toys. All proceeds benefit the missions and charities of this Christian Franciscan order. The store stocks furniture and antiques in a warehouse on nearby Production Avenue.
